Override guide

Sprite Garden

The peaceful island where every sprite you extract lives permanently — Season 3, Override, and whatever comes next.

Island code

Created by epicgames · Discovery menu or paste in island search

Sprite Garden island sanctuary with sprites roaming the terraces
Your collection lives on a peaceful island — not on the Battle Royale map.

What it is for

Override replaced the Runners roster in Battle Royale. Sprite Garden exists so that collection does not vanish with the season. Epic calls it an island getaway: play with your sprites, visit friends' sanctuaries, and showcase the full set.

A home for every generation

Season 3: Runners sprites left Battle Royale, but they are not gone. The garden is the permanent archive — past, present, and future sprites live here together.

Showcase, not combat

No PvP, no storm, no scoring. It is a UEFN island getaway (Fairview Portals + Beyond Creative) for decorating, watching sprite behavior, and hanging out.

Social, but safe

Visit a friend's garden or invite them to yours. Guests can see your collection. They cannot interact with your sprites, extract them, or trade them here.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Open the island

From the Fortnite lobby, search Sprite Garden in Discovery — or enter the island code. Confirm it says Created by epicgames before you load in, then favorite it so fakes don't show up later.

  2. Step 2

    Follow Jade

Load in solo or with up to three friends. Each player has their own garden. Jade walks you through the first build — interact where the prompt appears. It takes seconds.

  3. Step 3

    Place, roam, visit

Display sprites on pedestals and in the four corner homes. They wander the island on their own. Pick one up, highlight it to follow you, or send it back to inventory. Friends can look — they cannot touch or steal.

Pick a sprite up, then highlight it (R2 / RT / right-click equivalent) to have it follow you, or return it to inventory. Extract in Battle Royale to add new Override sprites — mastery is not required for the garden.

Four corner homes on a Sprite Garden island
Build a home in each corner (up to four). Jade marks the interact spots.
Sprites displayed on garden pedestals
Park sprites on pedestals or let them wander buildings and paths.
Friends visiting a Sprite Garden together
Load with up to three other players. Each person still has their own garden.

Season 3 stays here

Runners sprites (117 total) no longer drop in live matches. If you extracted them last season, they roam this island plus unlock Sprite Mastery Pod Back Bling styles and Guardian Outfit pilots. Override sprites you extract now join the same garden automatically.

FAQ

Do Season 3 sprites still work in Battle Royale?
Not at launch. Runners sprites are immortalized in the garden, as Sprite Mastery Pod Back Bling styles, as Guardian Outfit pilots, and on your Collection page. Epic has said past generations may return to BR later.
How do new Override sprites get into the garden?
Extract a sprite in Battle Royale. If it is new to your collection, it appears in the garden automatically — even if you later lose it in a match. You do not need to master it first.
Can I recover Season 3 sprites I missed?
No. Missed Runners sprites are gone. There were 117 in Season 3. Only sprites you already extracted carry into the garden.
Can friends steal or trade sprites here?
No. Guests can look at your garden. They cannot pick up, extract, or trade your sprites. Use SpriteVault Trades / Discord for swaps — the garden is display only.
Does losing a sprite in a match remove it from the garden?
No. The garden is independent of the match. Once a sprite is in your collection, the garden keeps it.
